Negative: Next door neighbour had parked on the drive so couldn’t use the drive and the pool table is a kids snooker table. Not an adult pool table.. this is misleading. Clothes / towel hooks on en-suite door falling off.

Positive: NOTHING: The host operates a hidden temporary hold structure where a mandatory deposit is scaled up based on stay duration only after payment is finalized. Furthermore, I was targeted with invasive profiling regarding my use of basic amenities and living within a 10 mile radius - something it states NOWHERE is an issue. despite booking the property for a full week. After hours of ignoring official communication channels, the host bypassed the platform to make a direct, unauthorized phone call late at night. As a solo female traveler, this combination of hidden financial demands, profiling, and direct contact created an entirely unsafe environment that caused physical illness. Of my own volition I volunteered the purpose of my stay in advance to do some writing and also edit videos. For comparison I regularly stay at an AirBNB that is 5 mins from my home without issue as I don't have a bathtub and find literally working from a different space assists me. Negative: C – Contractual Breaches: The host unilaterally introduced a restrictive policy on 1st March after payment was made on 13th February. E – Evasive Actions: The host manipulated the platform record by deleting critical messages. F – Failure to Communicate: The host ceased communication entirely for 14 hours during the check-in window. Host owns the temporary hold website CEFAS - if you do not opt for the non refundable fee you have to opt for the £250 temporary hold. This was taken twice in the window of my stay totalling £500 on my card at one time. Luckily I had paid in full on a different card for the stay that came to just under £380 so if you didn't have a higher limit on your cards you would not know this would impact you as upon payment of the hold, you receive an email stating it will be taken again and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. The host introduced a restrictive policy on 1st March 2026 that was not stated in the listing when the booking was confirmed on 13th February. The host then deleted a message to prevent me from seeing the contents which booking admitted was an apology. on the platform and ceased all communication for 14 hours during the check-in window.I was on the phone for hours in dispute with booking.com who promised me my money back (not a cancellation) It was impossible to safely proceed with the stay due to the host making the circumstances untenable. Both Booking.com and the host have ignored official Subject Access Requests to provide the necessary information that has been hidden from me. Ongoing case open with ICO and will be taking further.

Had a drive which was convenient, plenty of shops and supermarkets about. Negative: Snooker table is a kids one but made to look adult size. Beds were hard, thick dust behind doors, kitchen taps were hanging off, kettle didn’t work properly you had to stand and hold the on button on, shower curtain was missing hoops to hang from shower rail so was hanging off, kitchen bin was broken, no welcome packs/info, not even a pint of milk so you could make a drink on arrival (for the price I would of expected some sort of welcome packs).

Positive: The location and the host was very nice and accommodating Negative: We had no internet our whole stay & no hot water on arrival- we had to fix the hot water ourselves. We also had dirty dishes still in the sink from the previous guests which we had to clean.
